Tips for designing your business cards

when you are designing and choosing finishes for your business cards.
The standard business card size is 85mm x 55mm. This size fits well in most wallets so is convenient, this may be something to bear in mind if you are thinking of going for an unusual shape or size. Having a business card that fits easily in a wallet is less likely to be thrown away.
What needs to go on your business cards and what can you leave out?
Contact information – This should most likely include email, phone number and social media. You don’t want to clutter up your card, however, if you are active on social media with your business, it is useful to include that information. Potential customers may want to check your company out on social media before contacting you or contact you directly through social media itself.
Always keep it clear
Your business card is not the place to list every single service you offer if this is a lengthy one. It is a small card to offer your contact details and show your brand/business on a very small space!
When deciding on colours for your cards, obviously branding is important and you may stick with that through onto your business cards too.
When choosing your thickness and finishes its often good to feel and see in the flesh if you are not familiar what certain weights of paper and finishes feel like. We have a range of samples for you to have a look at. To give a more professional edge that doesn’t look cheap, 300gsm or over is a good thickness.
